Angie
Jungbluth’s watercolor
of a fox was selected as the winner of the Missouri Department of Conservation’s
contest to design their annual pin. MDC usually designs the pin, but this year
they opened it up to the volunteers statewide.
Each year the MDC gives its statewide volunteers a pin as a way to say thank
you for all of their help throughout the year. Volunteers help run
established programs such as Eagle Days, Wetlands for Kids, Maple Sugar Days,
Go Fish, and more. Additionally, volunteers develop their own programs
for the public such as hiking, wild edible programs, craft programs, etc.
The Missouri Department of Conservation always tells us, "Volunteers Make
a Difference!"
