Several of us went to St. Louis last night to see an amazing water media demo by Stephen Quiller. "Play and listen to the painting" he mentioned over and over. He certainly was listening as he captured on paper a sunset from one of his daily late after cross country skiing outing near his home in Colorado.

Carolyn Owen Sommer show

Carolyn Owen Sommer invites you to her show at Lincoln Land Community College in Litchfield, IL.  Thursday March 29 at 5:00.

Lincoln Land brings educational opportunities to Litchfield and surrounding rural areas.  There will be a youth class and an adult floral watercolor class in conjunction with the exhibit.

Spring teases us with thoughts of painting outdoors again!  Here's my schedule for my plein air workshop here in St. Louis:

 

May 14th - 15th    -----  various locations     

                                       Possible sites:   Tower Grove  Park, Fenton, downtown Kirkwood, Forest

                                        Park, Soulard

                                        9:00 - 4:00

Tuition:  $110 for the two day workshop.    $75 for one day.

Art Fair At Queeny Park

Come to the Art Fair @ Queeny Park March 30, 31, and April 1.  Maggie McCarthy and Mary Mosblech are 2 of the more than 130 juried artists displaying their work for sale.
     In addition to the art, there will art demonstrations,  an art raffle new this year, several Art Bucks raffles, children's Art Discovery, the Art Wall, and wine tasting Friday 6-9 and Sat 4-6.  It's all inside so weather is not a problem.

Call For Entries at Norton's

Norton's is part of the Maplewood "Women Making History" festivities this month. 

On Saturday, March 31st, from 12 - 5, we're having a "Women by Women" show.  I

I am in need of MORE images of women by women artists.

For this show, the gallery has dropped it's usual commission of 40% to only 25%. 

The artwork will be up through mid April, and I need it no later than Tuesday,

March 27th.  There are no size restrictions nor quantity restrictions, however

Norton's will determine the final entries.

There will be refreshments served, and you are invited to attend, like an

opening, although I realize that this is VERY late notice.  And, of course, I

encourage you to invite your friends, family and collectors!
