Maggie McCarthy and Mary Mosblech at Queeny Art Fair
"Check out the channel 4 web site for the Great Day St. Louis 10 AM show
for Wednesday, April 3. http://www.kmov.com/great-day-st-louis/Art-Fair-at-Queeny-Park-201280871.html Maggie McCarthy did a watercolor painting
live as she was promoting the Art Fair @ Queeny Park. The show checked
in with Maggie twice, at about 10:20 and 10:45. And, while she was
painting off camera they were interviewing Caroline Kennedy 10 feet away
from her. Pretty cool. Come see Maggie's work at the Art Show this
weekend."
"Maggie McCarthy and Mary Mosblech have both been juried into the Art Fair @Queeny Park. The show is this weekend, April 5,6,7, held at Queeny Park, inside at the Greensfelder Recreation Complex. The times are Fri., 6-9, Sat. 10-6, and Sunday 11-4. Maggie is also one of the co-chairs of the show. "

Spring Tour
of 50 Miles of Art!!
March 23 and Sunday, March 24
This weekend is the Spring Tour
of 50 Miles of Art!! Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 will provide an
opportunity for art lovers from far and wide to tour artists’ studios and art
related business in the three river communities of Hannibal, Louisiana and
Clarksville. Artists and art related businesses participating in the tour will
strive to have their studios and businesses open from 10-5 both days and will be
offering demonstrations and sharing information about their art. An article
about the tour was in the St. Louis Post Dispatch a couple of weeks ago which,
hopefully, will result in drawing an even larger crowd.
If you are not participating as
one of the listed artists or businesses, I hope that you will be able to find a
way to join in on the continued tradition of 50 Miles of Art by supporting the
artists and businesses as you spread the word about the tour or by taking the
tour yourself. There are some new artists and businesses added to the tour this
year that you would enjoy visiting.

Wedesday Self Help Painters
Here are some great pics from member Suzanne Galli Koenen of the Wednesday Self Help Painters. They meet at Lindbergh High School on Wednesdays. This group was formed a couple of years ago because there were no evening watercolor instruction classes available and it became a DIY. They are thriving and SLWS has underwritten these classes to get them going so far. Karl Zickler, an attendant, said that Dave Anderson ( in the blue shirt) is the Justin Bieber of the watercolor class.
