Spring Tour of 50 Miles of Art!!
March 23 and Sunday, March 24

This weekend is the Spring Tour of 50 Miles of Art!! Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 will provide an opportunity for art lovers from far and wide to tour artists’ studios and art related business in the three river communities of Hannibal, Louisiana and Clarksville. Artists and art related businesses participating in the tour will strive to have their studios and businesses open from 10-5 both days and will be offering demonstrations and sharing information about their art. An article about the tour was in the St. Louis Post Dispatch a couple of weeks ago which, hopefully, will result in drawing an even larger crowd.

If you are not participating as one of the listed artists or businesses, I hope that you will be able to find a way to join in on the continued tradition of 50 Miles of Art by supporting the artists and businesses as you spread the word about the tour or by taking the tour yourself. There are some new artists and businesses added to the tour this year that you would enjoy visiting.

Wedesday Self Help Painters

Here are some great pics from member Suzanne Galli Koenen of the Wednesday Self Help Painters.  They meet at Lindbergh High School on Wednesdays.  This group was formed a couple of years ago because there were no evening watercolor instruction classes available and it became a DIY.  They are thriving and SLWS has underwritten these classes to get them going so far.  Karl Zickler, an attendant,  said that Dave Anderson ( in the blue shirt) is the Justin Bieber of the watercolor class.
