Daven Anderson's Upcoming Classes

Watercolorists and those who will be!

I hope that you and your family enjoy a very Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah and a wonderful holiday!  I wish you the very best in health and wealth in 2015!!

Day classes will resume in January beginning Thursday, January 8th, and Friday, January 9th.  Class will be from 10 am to 2:30 pm lunch included.  I will also be teaching a former student, an out-of-towner, Monday (12th) and Tuesday through Friday (16th) from 9 am to 3 or 4 pm.  Regular day students are invited to attend any or all of those days as well. The fee for day classes will remain
$190 for 6 classes, lunch included.  Even though I will be teaching somewhat extended hours the week of the 12th, each day will count for one day lesson.  I will also teach a day class on Thursday, January 22nd.

Evening classes continue every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 pm to 9:15pm.  The fee remains $175 for 6 classes.

I will hold one special class on Saturday, January 10th from 9 am to 3:30 pm.  The subject will be a still life composed of fresh flowers, a sculptured bust and accented with a few other objects d'art.  The fee will be $69 with lunch included. The intent will be to paint the still life freely, with color and from a few different angles with different lighting.

Please let me know if you plan on attending - especially the day classes so that the proper number of lunches can be prepared.

Thank you & look forward to seeing you.  Keep painting!

Highlights of the SLWS Holiday Party at CJ Muggs Dec. 3rd

This year's holiday party was extra special as the event was held in the lower level of CJ Muggs, the room decorated with members' artwork and holiday lights, and live music provided by Double Clique (who happen to be Cindy Klatt's husband and brother-in-law and who generously provided the entertainment gratis).   We have had positive feedback from attendees who said how nice it was to have a private room with more space, our artwork, and live entertainment.  Here are some shots of the frivolity.

Call for Art for SLWS Holiday Party at CJ Muggs

Members are invited to bring one or two pieces of art to hang in the lower level of CJ Muggs where the SLWS will be having their holiday party this year on Dec. 3rd.  It would be great if the work had some holiday theme, but any work will be accepted if suitable matted and framed.  Receiving will be on Wednesday, Nov 19 (after the meeting) from 9 pm to 10 pm, and also on Nov 20, from 9 to 10 am.  We are encouraged to use the back entrance off the parking garage.  (The parking garage has an entrance off Gore, right past Green Door Gallery).  This will take you directly into the lower level and you will not have to carry paintings through the restaurant and down the stairs.  The lower level at CJ Muggs will be used for various holiday parties.  Retrieval will be after the Jan. 21 meeting, or Jan 22 from 9 - 10 am.
