News Update

Our 12th Annual Juried Exhibition opens this Friday, 6-8 PM at the Creative Art Gallery, 3232 Ivanhoe.  125 paintings selected by juror, Charles Reid.  Fabulous show!  Refreshments are catered by the gallery.

We have a correction to the May newsletter you just received.  Our workshop artist from last summer, Tom Francesconi, contacted us to say that the bio for our Big Splash judge, Robert Mejer, should show that his signature status in the Midwest Watercolor Society is now the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.  They changed their name in 2003.  Thanks for the info, Tom!

Our Wednesday Self Help Painters are having a grand time this session!  They meet at Lindbergh high School and share ideas and good times. Take a look and thanks to Suzanne Galli Koenen for these pics.

Daven Anderson exhibits

Member Daven Anderson reports:

  • UPTOWN magazine will be doing a two page article on me and my work in their July/Aug issue.
  • I am currently exhibiting 20 works in the downtown Missouri Athletic Club Gallery.  If you are in the area, stop by and take a look.
  • May 13-15 I will have a booth at the Mercantile Library Fine Print, Rare Book and Paper Arts Fair.   As many of you know, the Mercantile has a 'world class' collection of Fine Art and this fair, now in its 5th yr, is unique in St. Louis and truly exceptional.  The fair is held on the UMSL campus with easy parking.  I encourage you to take advantage of the fair and stop by.  Friday evening, May 13th, is the opening reception.
