Marilynne Bradley Annual Workshop

33rd Annual ARROW ROCK MO
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
JULY 10-14, 2011

You are invited to attend the summer workshop at the historic river town of Arrow Rock, Missouri. The workshop is open to amateur or advanced painters of any style. A different watercolor technique will be presented daily. Classes begin Sunday at 1pm at the visitor’s center. Weekday sessions begin at 9 a.m. with a painting demonstration and a critique of the previous day’s work. The remainder of the day will be devoted to painting, additional activities and side trips. Participants will meet formally for approximately 3 hours per day, Sunday through Thursday, and will be expected to complete assignments each day.
I will furnish you with white sulphite paper,  WC  markers, white crayons and Prang watercolors etc.  If you have your own watercolors, bring them.  I’ll be demonstrating techniques that will work with most brands of watercolors. However, Prang watercolors have the most intense colors. Bring pencils, scissors, masking tape, sponges, water container and a drawing board. The
FEE FOR THE WORKSHOP IS $150.
The dress for the week is very casual. The weather is usually hot. Bring bug spray. To give you time to get settled with rooming, we will meet at the
STATE HISTORIC SITE Interpretive Center, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. You will get your first assignment due the next morning. We will meet at 9 each morning in the auditorium. Class will end by noon, Thursday.

Amalia Lottes show at Murdoch Perk

Amalia says,
The people who manage the art displays are interested in
showing more paintings - I guess they have been very heavy
on photography! The shows last 2 months and the artist must
provide 13 pieces. There is no commission take and the artist
must do all the transactions. It's a really cute coffee shop
with great food in a neat neighborhood.

Paint Boothbay Harbor with Carol Jessen

Dear Artists,

We're six months out from the workshop in Boothbay Harbor, Maine September, 2011.  Reserve your space soon to be assured that you won't be left out! ( See attached brochure).

Now is also the best time to reserve your room at the Beach Cove Resort or other lodgings in the area.

I am pleased to announce that Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor will be giving me a show during the whole month of July.  Since Gleason's is one of the most well-respected galleries in a state known for its fine galleries, I am very happy to be represented by Dennis and Marti Gleason.

One last note:  I will also be teaching two classes for beginners and intermediate watercolor students in Damariscotta, Maine this coming summer at the River Arts Center.  There will also be a one day workshop in August.  Contact the Center for more information on dates and tuition.

I hope you can join me for my workshop in September or for one of the classes in Damariscotta this summer.  Chase away the winter blahs, and sign up soon!

Best, Carol
